Hi, I'm Amelia, the founder of Flow & Movement.

I've spent my entire working life in people-focused roles. Over the years I've worked across healthcare and allied health, supporting people through different stages of life and health. Listening, educating, problem-solving and helping people feel comfortable has always been at the heart of what I do.

As I've grown older and experienced different stages of my own life, I've realised what matters most to me. To spend my time doing something meaningful, working with people and helping them make real, lasting differences in their lives.

That's what led me to Pilates.

I love that Pilates is truly for everybody. It can be adapted for people of all ages, abilities and experience levels, and every movement can be modified to meet you where you are. It's not just about exercise; it's about mindful movement, breathing, building body awareness, and taking a moment to slow down.

But what I love most isn't teaching an exercise.

It's watching someone who walks through the door feeling nervous leave with a little more confidence than when they arrived. Seeing someone achieve something they didn't think they could. Watching their shoulders relax, their smile grow, and their confidence begin to carry into other parts of their life. Those moments remind me why I do what I do.

I created Flow & Movement because I know that traditional gyms and busy studios aren't for everyone. Some people feel intimidated. Some feel like they don't fit in. Others simply prefer a quieter, more personalised environment. Whether you're completely new to Pilates, returning after time away, living with sensory sensitivities, wanting to stay active as you get older, or you're simply looking for a welcoming place to begin, I want you to know that you belong here.

As a qualified Allied Health Assistant and Pilates Instructor, I also work alongside Physiotherapists and other Allied Health Practitioners to deliver therapy assistance programs that support individual rehabilitation and functional goals.

Flow & Movement isn't about perfection. It's about creating a space where you feel comfortable enough to move, learn, ask questions, and simply be yourself. I don't believe movement has to be serious to be effective. Some of the best sessions include plenty of laughs along the way.

If you leave each session feeling a little stronger, a little more confident, having shared a few laughs, and feeling lighter than when you arrived, then I've done my job.

PHILOSOPHY

Pilates is a form of movement that can support you throughout every stage of life, even well into your 90s. Beyond strength and flexibility, Pilates can offer real functional benefits that can help you move with greater confidence, ease, and independence in everyday life.

However, I also recognise that many studios and gym environments aren't for everybody. For some, they can feel intimidating, overwhelming, or simply not like the right fit. My goal is to create a welcoming space, helping you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to enjoy moving your body because it feels good.

I want to create a positive movement experience where no question is silly, there is no judgment and where learning happens at your own pace.

My focus is on feeling comfortable and confident, body awareness, posture, breathing, control, and quality movement patterns that help you feel strong, capable, and connected in your body.

SESSIONS

Sessions are thoughtfully designed to help you get the most out of your movement practice.

Learning something new can feel challenging when you're also navigating unfamiliar equipment. Where appropriate, we may explore a movement away from the reformer, allowing you the opportunity to develop confidence, understanding, and body awareness before applying it on the reformer.

This thoughtful approach creates a more supportive learning experience and helps build lasting confidence in your movement practice.

EXPERIENCE

Every session is designed to feel welcoming, supportive, and entirely tailored to you. With personalised guidance and the freedom to move at your own pace, you'll have the opportunity to develop confidence, understanding, and trust in your body within a calm and nurturing environment.

For many people, it's not simply the pressure of a group class that feels overwhelming. Busy studios, unfamiliar equipment, bright lights, loud music, and crowded spaces can make beginning a movement practice feel intimidating. Flow & Movement was created to offer a gentler alternative, a space where you can slow down, ask questions, and learn without judgement.

Whether your goal is to transition into studio classes or continue with one-to-one support, the experience is shaped around your individual needs, allowing movement to feel less intimidating.
